Why invest in a new remote controller like Logitech Harmony Remote when your Android phone offers more features at a lower cost and is portable? This application, the first and only working through network connection and infrared, serves as an uncomplicated tool for enabling two hidden service menus on LG TVs. These menus unlock additional functionality such as DIVX, DVR features, and more. Furthermore, the app doubles as a remote controller, granting access to DVR functionality for control over a wide range of TV models, from older versions to newer ones. Only 2011 models support network connection; for all other models, infrared use is necessary. Supported infrared options include phones with built-in infrared transmitters or infrared dongles like IRDroid V1.0 (an open-source project at www.irdroid.com) connected to the headphone jack. The application has been tested with 42LW650G and select 2013/2014 models.

This application is unofficial and allows users to manipulate parameters and features (such as THX, THX cinema, DVR, DIVX, USB, Language, among others) on LG TVs equipped with WIFI or Ethernet connections by accessing the two secret Service Menus 1 and 2. Caution is advised when editing parameters and functions in these secret menus since improper use can result in damage or malfunctioning of the TV, potentially voiding its warranty. Users assume full responsibility for any actions taken with this application. For all other devices running KITKAT or newer with infrared capabilities, functionality should work; however, it's not guaranteed. For devices lacking a compatible IR transmitter, we recommend using an external IR dongle on the headphone connector; IRDroid V1 is fully tested and supported.
